Hadith
It is narrated from Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The most virtuous fast after Ramadan is the fast observed in the month of Muharram, which is Allah’s month. And the most virtuous prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.”

What We Learn
  1. 1Fasting in Muharram is very rewarding. It should be observed as much as possible, coming second only to the Ramadan fast in terms of value.
  2. 2The night prayer comes immediately after the obligatory prayers in terms of virtue and serves as a means for one to earn great rewards.
