Hadith
It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever is killed while defending his property is a martyr.”

What We Learn
  1. 1Defending and protecting property, life, religion, honor and reputation is among our most important duties.
  2. 2Whoever is killed while defending his property, life, religion and honor attains the rank of martyrdom in the sight of Allah.
  3. 3There is no diyya or qisas for the person who kills the aggressor while defending property, life, religion, honor and reputation.
  4. 4Providing security for the lives, properties, religions, honors and reputations of individuals is one of the most important duties of the Islamic state.
