According to the narration from Abū Mas’ūd al-Anṣārī may Allah be pleased with him, the Messenger of Allah sallallāhu aleyhi ve sellem said: “There is a saying that has remained in the minds of people since the first prophets: ‘Do whatever you want after you are not ashamed!’”

What We Learn
- 1The feeling of shame is an important measure in distinguishing between good and evil, halal and haram.
- 2A person who is not ashamed can do all kinds of evils without hesitation.
- 3There is a need to raise people with the feeling of shame for a healthy society.
- 4The feeling of hayā, which is called shame, is a divine characteristic that all prophets taught and recommended to their ummah (community).
