Hadith

According to a narration from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade placing the hand on the chest during prayer.

What We Learn

1. 1It is not permissible to make movements in prayer that do not conform to the nature of the prayer.
2. 2Placing the hand on the chest during prayer is undesirable (makruh).
3. 3Placing hands on the chest has been deemed undesirable due to reasons such as arrogance, Satan’s actions, Jewish customs, and being the way those in Hell relax.
