Hadith
It is narrated from Umme Salama may Allah be pleased with her, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever drinks from a silver goblet fills his belly with the fire of Hell.”

Narrator
In a narration of Muslim: “He who eats and drinks from gold and silver vessels,” is the wording. Muslim, Libâs 1. It will be explained along with hadith number 1801.
What We Learn
- 1Acquiring items and goblets made of gold and silver, and eating and drinking from them are forbidden in our religion.
- 2Using items made of gold and silver is considered a sign of arrogance, self-admiration, and feeling superior to others, which are all behaviors that are forbidden in our religion.
- 3Wearing garments made of pure silk is forbidden for the men of the Muslim Ummah.
- 4The Muslim community should stay away from resembling and emulating disbelievers in every matter.
- 5The blessings to be attained in the Hereafter are superior and more permanent than those in this world. A believer should prefer the Hereafter to the world.
