Hadith
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah, the Exalted, likes the mosques in a town, and He dislikes the markets.”

What We Learn
- 1Allah, the Exalted, desires goodness and well-being for those who find themselves in mosques and masjids for worship.
- 2He does not desire goodness and well-being for those who deceive and lie to each other in the marketplace in pursuit of worldly gain.
- 3Those who are professionally present in the marketplace should not forget Allah and the Hereafter, and even if their body is in the marketplace, their heart must be connected to the mosque, that is, to Allah.
- 4Even if a person does not deceive others, he should not stay too long in the marketplace where others behave immorally.
- 5Islam encourages halal earnings and trade; it opposes wasting time in vain in the marketplace.
