Beyond the backstage competition, what is truly important is that the Roman artist’s art shines with all its splendor thanks to the polish of the Chinese master; because true value lies in placing beauty upon apparent flaws and imperfections, transforming them into beauty. This emphasizes the importance of purifying the heart and illuminating it with divine love from a Sufi perspective.
The Radiance of the Heart: Levels of Faith
In Sufi thought, the levels of faith vary; just as the intensity of the light reflected depends on how clean and bright the surface of a mirror is. Every believer possesses a ‘light of knowledge’ (marifet nuru) that brings them closer to God. This light illuminates a vast world for some, while in others it penetrates only a small area. This diversity of faith is a dynamic process combining personal effort and divine grace; every individual can progress on the path to reaching Haq by discovering their potential.
Knowledge and Marifet: The Key to Happiness
A Muslim’s happiness is measured not only by material wealth but also by knowledge and marifet. Just as there are different degrees of wealth, there are those who can go further on the path to happiness. A person who nourishes their heart with knowledge and attains spiritual maturity is richer than one who has money or worldly pleasures. Therefore, constantly striving for learning and self-improvement is a fundamental condition for success in both this world and the hereafter; because the radiance of the heart is the most important element that strengthens faith and brings a person closer to Haq.
