It was narrated by Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would say in the morning: “Allahumma bike asbahnâ wa bike emseynâ wa bike nahyâ wa bike nemût wa ileyke’n-nüşûr: O Allah! We attained dawn by Your favor, we reached evening by Your grace. We live and die by Your will, and to You is the return.” And in the evening he would say: “Allahümme bike emseynâ wa bike nahyâ wa bike nemût wa ileyke’l-masîr: O Allah! We reached evening by Your grace. We live and die by Your will, and to You is the destination.”
