Hadith
Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “There will come a time when people abandon Medina with all its goodness and beauty; and only wild animals and birds will remain in it. The last to enter Medina will be two shepherds from the tribe of Muzayna, calling out to their sheep, and they will find it desolate and full of wild beasts. Then they will fall down dead upon their faces.”
Bukhari, Fazail al-Madinah 5; Muslim, Hajj 498, 499.
What We Learn
- 1Near the time of the End, people will abandon that beautiful Medina, into which even the Dajjal cannot enter, without looking at its spiritual beauties.
- 2At that time, only wild animals and birds will live there.
- 3The last to come to Medina will be two shepherds from the tribe of Muzayna with their sheep; before they even enter the city, the Day of Judgment will occur while they are still on Seniyyet al-Wada’.
