Hadith
It is narrated by Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him, that he entered upon a woman who was reciting tasbih with date kernels or pebbles while the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was with him one day. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to the woman: “Shall I not tell you of something easier – or more virtuous?” Then he said: “SubhanAllah adad ma khalaqa fi’s-sama’i wa subhanAllah adad ma khalaqa fi’l-ardi wa subhanAllah adad ma bayna zalika wa subhanAllah adad ma huwa halik: I glorify Allah to the number of what He has created in the heavens, and I glorify Allah to the number of what He has created on the earth, and I glorify Allah to the number of what is between them, and I glorify Allah to the number of what He will create. And likewise you say, Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulilah, La ilaha illallah, La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.”

What We Learn

  2. 2The person who recites the remembrance in the manner taught by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in this hadith, has glorified Allah to the number of creations whose count no one but Allah Himself can know.
