It declares authoritatively that the inner and outer aspects of humanity, as well as the inner and outer aspects of the world, are congruent.
O esteemed one! It is known that the wise have said: A person must first know their own self, so that they may understand what truly constitutes their inner and outer being (batin and zahir), its nature, origin, characteristics, and influences. Through this knowledge, they recognize the Creator of their own creation, discovering His names and attributes, His manifestations and appearances, in both the inner and outer realms. They return to their Lord with a heartfelt turning, embarking upon the path of their Lord. The truths of things and the subtleties of meanings become clear to them. They abide continuously in the station of closeness (uns) to God. For humankind is a microcosm, and that which lies outside it is the macrocosm. Whatever exists in the macrocosm has its counterpart within this microcosm.
Just as the macrocosm possesses four seas, so too does the human microcosm possess four seas, corresponding to it. The four seas of the macrocosm are: the hidden treasure of love, the primordial essence, the realm of the spiritual (malakut), and the material world (mulk). The four seas of the human microcosm are: sperm from the father’s seed, ovum in the mother's womb, the spiritual soul, and the body. For the Exalted One has said with eternal love, "I was a hidden treasure, and I loved to be known," announcing that love is the genesis of creation.
Thus, Divine love became the first sea of the macrocosm. When this sea of love stirred, the primordial essence emerged from its grace, becoming the second sea of the macrocosm. This essence has an inner and an outer aspect; from its inner aspect, the life of the spheres and elements arose. The realm of the spiritual is the third sea of the macrocosm. From the outer aspect of that essence, simple bodies—the spheres and elements—came into being. This is the material world, which became the fourth sea of the macrocosm. In this way, the four seas of the macrocosm have come to an end.
The seven planets' orbits are called "noble ancestors," while the four natures and elements are called "inferior mothers." These fathers and mothers are constantly in motion. From them arise minerals, plants, and animals (the three origins). As the Exalted One has said: “By the Pen and what they write!” (The Pen, 68/1-2). That is, the ‘nun’ represents the hidden treasure of love, the pen signifies the primordial essence, and the writings represent the simple entities of the material world and the spiritual entities of the realm of the spiritual.
Simple and composite existences (singulars and abstracts) are in the Book every moment. These composite bodies emerge from that Book, like words in a book, arranged with wisdom. The Divine has revealed to us the endlessness of these divine words. As it is said in the Quran: "The words of Allah are not exhausted" (Lokman, 31/27).

1-How can these four elements complete their cycle,
Whose beginning and end are unknown?
2-Sometimes they wander through the realm of separation,
Sometimes they move within the realm of composition.
3-In the realm of separation, these four are helpless in their turn;
When it comes to composition, origins become manifest.
4-Among all manifestations, humankind is most esteemed;
All of humankind’s servants are those that appear.
The genesis of the human microcosm is the sperm from the father's seed, which constitutes its first sea. The primordial essence of humanity is the ovum in the mother's womb, which is known as its second sea. This ovum has an inner aspect and a form, which are likened to and applied to the realms of the spiritual and the material. From the inner aspect of the ovum arise the senses and capabilities of the fetus, making it the third sea. The various organs of the baby’s body emerge from its outer aspect, considered its fourth sea. Thus, the four seas of the human microcosm have come to an end. For sperm, hidden within the father's seed, was pure love. From a movement arising from it, it reveals itself in the mother's womb as the primordial essence, which is the inner and outer aspects of the baby’s body and soul, thus bringing about the human microcosm. The macrocosm serves this human microcosm.
