Third Point
The hadith narrate that the place where Allah is known and felt is the depths of the human heart.
Beloved! It should be known that the Most Noble Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) gave glad tidings to his community, by the grace and mercy of Allah Most High, that He is close to the hearts of His servants and watches over them. Indeed, he indicated this through hadith narrations, saying: “I found my Lord as pure light and I beheld Him.” And he said: "My eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep. My Lord, the Creator of all beings, I find eternal communion with Him." And he said: "There is a time when Allah Most High and I are together such that I cannot regard any near angel (mukarrab) nor show interest in any prophet. But I am occupied only with Him.” And he said: “I spend nights in the presence of my Lord. That is, during the night I have intimacy with Him; He feeds me and gives me drink.” And he said: "Whoever sees Me has surely seen the Truth. Whoever shakes hands with Me has surely shaken hands with Allah Most High. This is the Hand of Allah which is above their hands." [202] And he said: “Allah Most High speaks through the tongue of Umar.” And he said: "The heart of a believer is the dwelling place of Allah." And he said: "The heart of a believer is the Throne of Allah."
And he said: "The heart of a believer is more expansive than the heavens and the earth." And he said: “The believer is sweet (forat), [194/b] the believer is watchful and observant (muheymin).” And he said: "Indeed, Allah Most High gives counsel and advice in the heart of the believing servant.” And he said: "Indeed, Allah Most High inspires goodness into the hearts of believers." And he said: “O my community! There is none among you with whom your Lord does not speak directly.” Indeed, Allah Most High has announced this speech through the verse: “Do We not give man knowledge of [the distinction between] good and evil? (The Fig, 95/10)."
And he said: "When you wish to do something, consult your heart." If your heart gives you a fatwa, that is, finds it right, then perform the deed. For there is goodness in that deed because of the tranquility of your heart. If there is evil in a deed, your heart will doubt it. Even if people tell you to do it, do not do it. And he said: “Allah Most High loves mercy and gentleness in all things. He looks with affection upon a heart filled with compassion.” And he said: "Indeed, the hearts of His servants are places of refuge for Allah Most High on earth. Those most beloved to Him are those who are most sensitive and compassionate." And he said: “Indeed, Allah Most High does not look at your forms or beauty, but He looks at your hearts and intentions.” And he said: "Just as a compassionate mother cares for the upbringing of her child, so too does the Lord of the Worlds act with even greater mercy towards His servants." And he said: "There is no believer whose heart lacks the treasures of the unseen realm. When Allah Most High intends goodness for a servant, He opens a door in his heart and shows him the extraordinary beauty of His blessings and the splendor of His majesty.”
And he said: “There is no believer who does not have two eyes within his heart. Two are in his head with which he sees what can be seen. And two are in his heart with which he sees the affairs of the unseen. When Allah Most High intends goodness for a servant, He opens the eye of insight in his heart.” And he said: “The hearts of servants are between the two fingers of the All-Merciful, and He turns them as He wills.” And he said: "Indeed, the hearts of Adam’s descendants are all like one heart between the fingers of the All-Merciful, which He turns whither He pleases." And he said: “The sound heart (kalb-i salim) sees the turner.” The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) supplicated: "O Allah, who turns hearts! Make our hearts firm upon obedience to You by Your mercy." O Most Merciful of those who show mercy!"
Verse
1. The light of the Beloved’s beauty descends upon the heart,
The full moon-like face of the Beloved becomes visible to the eye of the soul.
2. Why should one pay attention to the pleasures of the universe,
When the pleasure of union with the Beloved is in the soul?
3. Why should one give importance to the appearance of a face,
When the love of the Beloved is found on the tongue?
4. What does the lover do with the water of life,
When his heart is filled with the wine of the Beloved’s essence?
5. The nightingale of the soul does not incline towards this trap and bait,
For he is entangled in the curls and state of the Beloved.
6. He does not bring two worlds into his imagination at all,
The soul in which the vision of the Beloved is constantly present.
7. There is no equal or substitute for the Beloved in both worlds,
Although every world is a shadow of the Beloved.
8. What does that spiritually intoxicated one do with the favor of form?
When his soul is filled with the bestowal of love for the Beloved.
9. When the heart of the soul sees the rising of the sun, O Truth!
That undying sun destroys the stars.
