The Cost of Being a Means for Love

The lamp being illuminated by the sound of Isrāfīl (the angel who will blow the trumpet at the end of time) symbolizes the presence of divine mercy and grace; this encourages the human being not to give up and to remain hopeful. Mawlānā states that overcoming doubts and denials is only possible by seeking refuge in divine mercy, while emphasizing the cyclical nature of the universe and the possibility of rebirth.
