It details in six points, with a wise and discerning style, the circles and poles assumed and determined upon the earth’s surface, the reasons necessitating the division of the earth into five parts, that one-quarter of the inhabited earth is genuinely divided into seven climates, their boundaries, numerous countries, great mountains, and rivers found within each of those climates, the types of people and animals dwelling there, what transpired behind the seven climates having been explored and investigated up to the ninety degree latitude (the poles), how the longest day is found in each of the seven climates, and how from that longest day one may ascertain in which climate a city lies, and that the regions within the seven climates differ significantly in their nature and climatic conditions, thereby causing considerable differences in the dispositions and temperaments of their inhabitants.
