That is to say, reaching truth requires constant effort, transcending oneself, and transforming. This symbolism expresses that we are all constantly undergoing transformation within our own inner worlds, and this transformation leads us to higher consciousnesses; this forms the foundation of Mevlana’s teaching.
The Song of Love and Attaining Truth
Mevlana sees love not only as a feeling but also as a power, a journey, and a quest for truth. Love carries us beyond our own selves and enables us to integrate with a universal consciousness; encountering pains, separations, and difficulties in this process is inevitable. However, according to Mevlana, these difficulties are not obstacles to be overcome, but rather steps that lead us to the truth. The song of love does not have meaning if it is sung loudly, unless it resonates in the depths of the heart; what is truly important is that love permeates our souls and transforms us.
