Following the Path of Shams: The Dissolution of Reason
In the works of Mevlânâ Celaleddin-i Rûmî, particularly in the Divan-ı Kebir, the motif of the musician represents a form of spiritual guidance. Under the influence of the wine, reason is temporarily suspended, while the potential lying deep within the soul is revealed. The one who drinks the wine of eternity transcends worldly boundaries and becomes molded by divine love; thus, the mortal soul embarks on a journey towards immortality.
