The Essence of Existence is Love

Even kings are dependent on lovers, the beautiful competing to gather their generosity, and even lions bowing before them—this demonstrates that love is above all worldly rank and power. Lovers are those who have dedicated themselves to love, sacrificing their egos; therefore, they deserve universal love and respect. Rumi expresses his deep respect for lovers by emphasizing their spiritual nobility and encourages people to be inspired by them and embark on a journey of love; thus, it becomes possible for the individual to discover their potential within and move towards a more meaningful life.
