This explains the number of stars, their sounds, melodies, and the circles formed by the movements of their centers.

Know that philosophers and astronomers are in agreement regarding the following: The number of stars is twenty-four, of which three each belong to the greatest sphere and three high spheres, two to the sun, three to Venus, four to Mercury, and four to the moon.

These twenty-four stars are parallel and encompass one another; because the movements of each differ from the others, they all produce sounds with soul-stirring melodies, praising God through glorification (tahlil), constantly revolving and dancing by the grace of Divine love.

Observers, observing these states of the stars with instruments and hearing their aforementioned sounds, have become aware of countless mysteries that are hidden.

Then, mastering their various sounds and melodies with their respective tones, they mix them skillfully to create numerous medicinal concoctions and delicious syrups for ailing souls.

They have discovered that each soul-stirring mode is a cure for many ailments, a remedy for many diseases, joy for many personalities, polish for many hearts, and sustenance for many spirits. This knowledge is also called spiritual medicine (tibb-i ruhani), spiritual geometry (hendese-i ruhani), spiritual power, and the art of music.

**Verse:**

1. Music is a science pertaining to wisdom,

A light for those who know and those who do not.

2. It holds many secrets; when one comprehends them,

It purifies the chests and appreciates their worth.

3. The respect of considerations, divisions, and seasons,

The distinctions of modes and melodies.

4. Tone, prelude, sound, and performance – how beautiful!

Recitations, embroideries, choirs, words, and couplets.

5. Each is filled with wisdom; a water irrigating the garden of the soul.

6. Dry, hot, and cold melodies; drawn from the spring of wisdom, pure and clear.

7. Each is a remedy for a disease; each repels its opposite.

8. The upper and lower are air, but does the world turn without air?

9. The wisdom of creation lies hidden within it.

He who is deaf and blind cannot taste its sweetness.

10. Those with discernment find their delight in it, may God increase their joy.

11. Music bestows fresh life upon humankind; the warbling of a sweet-voiced nightingale.

12. Listen to the song of the birds; if one is human, they will find it within themselves.

13. The playful and harmonious melodies of humanity affect people, whether they will or not.

14. A melody is a logic of the soul. The pleasure of a melody is in the heart's awareness.

15. Human breath is soul-stirring; spiritual melodies revive hearts and bring tranquility.

16. If you listen to the melodies with truthfulness, your life’s moments will not be wasted.

The explanation of the circles drawn by the spheres revolving in their orbits is as follows: One of these circles is that which is drawn on the surface of the outer sphere from the movement of the sun's center and on the surfaces of the carrying spheres from the movement of the center of the epicycle. Other circles are drawn on the surfaces of the carrying spheres from the movements of the centers of the stars, assuming their existence. These circles mentioned here take the name of the sphere in which they are assumed to be drawn. For example, the circle drawn on the surface of the outer sphere from the movement of the sun's center is called the outer sphere; the others are likewise named.

These are the five spheres designated as carrying spheres and the belt of the inclined sphere of the moon. If these six spheres were to cut through the world, the circles that would appear on the surfaces of the common-centered spheres (felek-i mümessil), the signs sphere, and the great sphere would all be inclined from the signs sphere; therefore, they are collectively called inclined spheres.

(Assuming their existence) the circles drawn are moved on spheres other than the poles of the world and the poles of the signs, as explained earlier, so that these circles are more inclined than the signs sphere.

Thus, the surfaces of the common-centered spheres intersect with one another. And these points of intersection form the Departure Nodes and antipodes mentioned in the aforementioned passages. This is the essence of the shapes of the spheres and the circles.

Praise be to God! He created so many stars and the celestial spheres. Greetings to that friend of His! In his glory, it is said, "Were you not, there would have been no creation."

The six components of the Milky Way galaxy are: the Thin Disk, the Thick Disk, the Halo, the Bulge, the Dark Halo, and the Interstellar Medium.

Leap Year: Over a period of thirty-three solar years, the number of lunar years is thirty-four. The Ottoman state developed an application to keep the Rumi year and the Hijri years on the same plane by subtracting one year from the Rumi year every thirty-three years. This intervention was called a "leap year." As for the Milky Way, the people of this region call it "the Road of Saman" or "the Road to the Ka'bah." Arabs call it "the Lamp of the Heavens" (sirjü’s-semā’) and “the Imam of the Stars” (imāmü’n-nucūm”). Persians call it “Kehkeşan.” Its reality is that it is a collection of fixed stars from the small middles of the sixth of the six components mentioned in the discussion of the constellations, which appear as if they are touching each other and forming white clouds due to their proximity.

However, at the beginning of the night, this Milky Way appears with one head in the south and another in the north. As time passes to the middle of the night, the southern head turns west and the northern head turns east. At the end of the night, the western head goes north and the eastern head goes south, so that the Milky Way seems to turn around us like a millstone, astonishing minds.

Much has been said about this subject. But only God knows the true nature of what happens in His dominion. We explained in our previous Turkish poem the effects of the seven planets, as if they were taking turns on earth and on the horizon, hour by hour. It seemed appropriate to bring that here now.
