Firstly, the world is a transient source of disgrace, sorrow, and grief,
a haven for injustice and darkness, a host of devils, an animalistic game, amusement,
and comprised of aspirations for the future. This is conveyed through verses of the Noble Qur’an and sacred hadith.
O esteemed one! Know that the Most High, out of mercy towards His servants,
has invited them to His exalted presence and shown them the right path, declaring that the pleasures of this world are capital. Indeed, He says in His Eternal Word: “Desire for women, children, hoards of gold and silver, fine horses, cattle, and crops is made alluring to people. These are the fleeting pleasures of worldly life, while that which is good remains with Allah.” (Al-Imran, 3/14) "Their Lord will give them joy with a reward of bounty and acceptance—gardens of everlasting bliss. They shall abide therein forever. Indeed, there is great reward with Allah." For wealth vanishes from its owner swiftly, while the knowledge of Allah endures, never ceasing.
The rulers of the earth are masters of the followers; we are servants of the Creator of all things.
When they boast of their swift steeds, we boast of our embroidered cloaks and mantles.
If they ride upon fleet-footed mounts, we walk in hidden paths on a concealed day.
If they descend into lofty places, we descend into mosques and secluded retreats.
We are content with coarse bread made from barley; when they consume sweetness and delicacies.
The world is but the shadow of one who vanishes, or a guest who tarries briefly then departs.
Or it is a dream that a sleeping person sees; when he awakens, it is dissipated.
The world is like a murky wine, and every seeker is tormented in his desire.
If I find no sweetness in this life, the wine of death is more delightful and beautiful to me.
Abandon the world and seek the Hereafter; for I have prepared for My righteous servants delights that no eye has seen and no ear has heard.
O humankind! Do not let your hearts die through love of the world, for its end is near. Indeed, everything will perish except my countenance [essence]. If you had shown me the same eagerness as you show to the world, I would have made you blissful in both worlds.
O humankind! If you desire My love, then extract the love of the world from your heart; for My love and the love of the world cannot dwell together in one heart, just as water and fire cannot be contained within a single vessel.
O humankind! How can you seek My love while holding the love of the world? Abandon the world to attain My pleasure and love. For My service requires that you empty your body from comfort, your hands from gain, and your heart from riches.
O humankind! Whoever knows the world and turns away from it finds salvation; and whoever knows the Hereafter and hastens towards it attains its blessings.
O humankind! Abandon the world and its pleasures, for they are fleeting and their enjoyment comes to an end. For with Me are rewards for those who obey Me, delights that no eye has seen and no ear has heard.
Abandon the world in a state where your heart is filled with My love.”

1- *Hiye’d-dunya ekallu mine’l-kalîl*
The world is insignificant, less than the least.
2- *Wa âşıkuhâ ezellu mine’z-zelîl*
And its lover is the very essence of abasement.
*Tasummu bi sihrihâ kavmen wa ta‘mâ*
It deafens a people with its magic, and blinds them.
*Fe-hum mutehayyirûne bi-lâ delîl*
They wander bewildered, without guidance.
