The Section on Purity · 85 – A Junub's (person in a state of ritual impurity) Repeating Sexual Intercourse
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) engaged in sexual relations with all his wives one day, and then performed a single ritual bath (ghusl). [172]
Abu Dawud said: This hadith was narrated to me by Hisham ibn Zayd from Anas, and by Ma’mer from Katada from Anas, and by Salih ibn Abu al-Ahzar from Zuhri, all of them from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who in turn narrated it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him).
COMMENTARY:
This hadith is evidence that a single ritual bath suffices for someone who engages in sexual relations multiple times in one night or between two prayers.
