Abu Rafi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) once visited his wives for intimacy, going from one to another (separately), and performing ghusl for each of them. I said, “O Messenger of Allah, would it not be better if you performed a single ghusl for all of them?” He replied, "Each of them washing is more purifying, more beautiful, and more clean."

Abu Dawud said: The hadith narrated by Hudhaifa ibn 'Ubayd is more authentic than this one. [173]

**Explanation:** This honorable hadith serves as evidence that it is preferable for a man who has two or three wives to perform separate ghusls for each of them if he has intimacy with all of them in a single night.

There is no contradiction between this hadith and the one mentioned previously. The Noble Messenger (peace and blessings upon him) performed a single ghusl while visiting his entire family to indicate that it is permissible. He also instructed on the more virtuous practice, which is to perform a separate ghusl after intimacy with each of them.

Said bin Hudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “If one of you goes to his family and desires to repeat [sexual intercourse], then let him perform ablution between the two.” [174]
