PRAYER SECTION · 13 – BUILDING MASJIDS IN HOMES AND SMALL CENTERS

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) ordered that prayer places be made in homes and tribes, and that they be kept clean. [314]
**Explanation:**
*Dar*: Originally it means "house," but here the term “Dar” refers to tribes.
Tribes are family groups affiliated with the same lineage. In order for those who are members of tribes and those who live far from homes not to be deprived of the reward of congregation, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) ordered that prayer places be established in tribes and homes.

Samura (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to his son: “All praise is due to Allah, and prayers upon His Messenger, after which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to construct mosques in our homes and in the areas where we reside, to complete their deficiencies, and to keep them clean.”
