THE EXCELLENCE OF FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT
Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: "Indeed, the most blessed day is Friday. For on it Adam was created. On it he was brought down from Paradise. On it repentance was accepted. On it he died. And the Hour [of Resurrection] will occur on Friday."
And every beast, however much there may be, listens for a sound in the dawn of Friday until sunrise, out of fear of the Day of Rising.
There is an hour within Friday. If a Muslim slave coincides with prayer during that hour and makes a request, then his request will surely be granted.
Kā’b said: "It is one day each year." I said, “Every Friday.”
Kā’b said: “I recited it in the Torah,” and the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said, “Indeed, it is every Friday.” Abū Hurayrah narrates: “I met Abdullah ibn Salam. I informed him about our conversation with Kā’b. Then Abdullah ibn Salam said to me:
‘Do you know which hour that is?’ I said, ‘Tell me.’ Abdullah ibn Salam said, ‘That hour is the last hour of Friday.’ I said, ‘How can it be the last hour of Friday, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said, “If a believer coincides with prayer during that hour?” But you are describing an hour in which prayer cannot be performed.’
Abdullah ibn Salam said, "Did not the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) say, 'A person sits in a place waiting for the prayer, and he is considered to be in prayer until he prays'?" I said, “Yes.” He then said: “That is the meaning of the Messenger of Allah’s (peace and blessings upon him) words, ‘If he coincides with prayer.’”
1047 – A’ishah bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said:
“Indeed, Friday is the most virtuous of your days. For on it Adam was created. On it he died. And the trumpet blast will occur on that day. Let you send prayers and greetings upon me abundantly on Fridays, for your prayers are presented to me.”
They said, “O Messenger of Allah, you will certainly decay, so how can our prayers be presented to you?” They used the word *baliyte* which means decay, and they were speaking truthfully.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: "The Exalted and Mighty Allah has forbidden the decaying of the bodies of prophets.” [117]
**EXPLANATION:**
The bodies of the prophets do not decay; they are alive in their graves, living a spiritual life. They recognize those who visit them. Prayers and greetings of those present are reciprocated by them. Not only the prophets, but also the martyrs from among the ummah of the prophets are alive in their graves, experiencing a special life and enjoying divine blessings.
*Erimte*: Means “you have decayed.”
*Saika*: Means sound, noise, and thunder. Here, it refers to the sound of the first trumpet blast.
