The second item
states that verses of the Holy Quran demonstrate the importance of getting along with all people, speaking with grace and gentle words.
O esteemed one! Know that the learned have said: The Divine Mercy of God to His servants is revealed through their mutual compassion and affection, which are necessary for each other [as will be shown in the following verses, whose meanings we shall present]:
“God wants ease for you, not hardship.” (Al-Baqarah 2/185) “God is most compassionate and most merciful to people.” (Al-Hajj 22/65) “God is compassionate towards His servants.” (Al-Baqarah 2/207) "It is more suitable for the righteous to forgive. And do not forget kindness among yourselves." (Al-Baqarah 2/237) "Indeed, God sees what you do." (Al-Baqarah 2/110) “Remember the favor of Allah upon you when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and through His favor you became brothers.” (Ali Imran 3/103) “(And those who) restrain anger and forgive faults. God loves those who do good.” (Ali Imran 3/134) "Because of the mercy of Allah, you are gentle with them. If you had been harsh and stern, they would have distanced themselves from you. So pardon their shortcomings, ask forgiveness for them, and consult them in matters." (Ali Imran 3/159) “Do not be a defender of betrayers!” (An-Nisa 4/105) "Peace is always best. Indeed, souls are created predisposed to jealousy. But if you get along well and fear God, surely God is aware of what you do." (An-Nisa 4/128) “Yet forgive them and let their fault pass. Surely Allah loves those who do good.” (Al-Ma’idah 5/13) "Believing men and believing women are allies to one another." (At-Tawbah, 9/71) “Surely my Lord is most merciful, most loving.” (Hud 11/90) “If your Lord had willed, He would have made mankind one religion, but they will continue to disagree until what is in their hearts is revealed. But My mercy has encompassed them. Indeed, your Lord creates as He wills." (Hud 11/118-119)
“Indeed, God commands justice, goodness, and upholding of kinship ties, and forbids immorality, evil, and oppression. He advises you so that you may take heed.” (An-Nahl 16/90) “If you punish, then punish with like punishment for what they have done, but if you are patient – indeed, patience is [of] the best and surely Allah is the most forgiving and the most merciful." (An-Nahl 16/126) "Whoever does good will have its reward, and whoever does evil will have its reward.” (Al-Isra, 17/7) “For God is with those who fear Him and those who do good.” (An-Nahl, 16/128) “Your Lord has only enjoined upon you to worship Him, and to honor your parents. If they both reach old age with you, then say not to them ‘uff’ [a word of impatience] nor chide them, but speak to them with respect. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say: “My Lord, have mercy upon them as You have cared for them when they were young.” (Al-Isra, 17/23-24)
“Tell My servants [to] speak the best of words. Then Satan incites discord among them. Indeed, Satan is a clear enemy.” (Al-Isra, 17/53) “Say: everyone acts according to their own disposition and inclination." (Al-Isra, 17/84)
“Forgive and pardon. Do you not wish for Allah’s forgiveness? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (An-Nur, 24/22)
"Those are the servants of the All-Merciful: they walk upon the earth humbly, and when those who ignore them speak to them, they reply with a greeting." (Al-Furqan, 25/63-64). "(They) do not bear witness to falsehood, nor do they indulge in frivolous talk.” (Al-Furqan, 25/72) “These will be given the highest degree of Paradise, and they will be received with greetings and praise. They will abide therein forever. What a fine settlement and abiding place!” (Al-Furqan, 25/75-76)
“They turn away from worthless talk and greet those who pass them in peace.” (Al-Qasas, 28/55) “He has created for you from yourselves mates that you may incline towards them, and He has placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, in that is a sign for people who reflect." (Ar-Rum, 30/21) "We have enjoined upon man [to be] kind to his parents.” (Az-Zukhruf, 46/15) “Goodness and evil are not equal. Just as you purify [evil] with good, so that it eliminates it. Then those who followed will become like those who do good." (Fussilat 41/34-35) "Allah is gracious to His servants.” (Ash-Shura, 42/19) “They avoid falsehood and evil deeds, and when anger visits them, they forgive.” (Ash-Shura, 42/37) “The recompense for an evil deed is but equal to it. But whoever pardons and makes amends, his reward will be [due to him from] Allah. Indeed, He does not fail the grateful." (Ash-Shura, 42/40) "Whoever is patient and forgiving – these are traits of those who strive nobly.” (Ash-Shura, 42/43)
“The believers are but brothers and sisters. So reconcile between your brothers and sisters and fear God that you may receive mercy." (Al-Hujurat, 49/10) "O you who believe! Let not a group revile another group, for perhaps they have [something] better than them. And let not women revile other women, for perhaps they have [something] better than them. And do not defame yourselves with nicknames. How evil is the name of slander after faith! And whoever migrates for God and His Messenger, then a destination will be from Allah – wider and more beautiful. And Allah would have given to each group victory had he willed.”
“But if they repent not, then indeed they are wrongdoers!” (Hujurat, 49/11) “O you who believe! Much suspicion is false; surely some suspicion is a fault. Do not seek out [the faults of] one another. Does any of you enjoy eating the flesh of his dead brother? Indeed, you detest it. So have taqwa of Allah. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Hujurat, 49/12) “Our Lord! Forgive us and those who came before us, and place not in our hearts rancor towards those who believe. Our Lord! You are surely the Compassionate, the Very Merciful.” (Hashr, 59/10) “Even though they may be in distress, they prefer them [believing brothers] over themselves. Whoever protects himself from the stinginess of his soul, these are the ones who attain success.” (Hashr, 59/9)
“O you who believe! Your spouses and your children from Shaytan may come to you as enemies. So beware of them; but if you forgive and overlook and pardon, then surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Taghabun, 64/14) “(It is) [to be] among those who counsel each other in patience and compassion.” (Balad, 90/17) “(O Messenger!) Adhere to the way of forgiveness, enjoin good and turn away from the ignorant.” (A’raf, 7/199) “Be patient! Verily, patience is only with the help of Allah. And grieve not for them; nor be distressed by their plots. Surely Allah is with those who strive [for His cause].” (Nahl, 16/127) “So give not orphans cause to grieve. Repel not him who asks you [for a favor]. And remember your Lord’s favour, surely you will return to Him.” (Duha, 93/9-11)

Bestow compassion upon God's creation and find mercy.
Treat the foolish with forbearance and respect and find ease.
Be kind and well-disposed towards all and find elevation.
If you cannot do this, seek seclusion and find dignity.
