SECTION ON PURIFICATION · 102 – HOW TO WASH AFTER SEMEN AND PRE-EJACULATE
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related: Concerning the fluid emitted by a man and a woman, it was narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) would take up a handful of water and pour it over me, then take another handful of water and pour it over himself.
COMMENTARY
In other versions of this hadith, ("aleyye" is replaced with "ala"). According to “ala” in the wording, the meaning would be as follows: He would take a handful of water and pour it upon the semen or pre-seminal fluid. Then he would take another handful of water and pour it over himself (upon the organ where the semen or pre-seminal fluid is located). Suyuti, may Allah have mercy on him, preferred this meaning when explaining this hadith.
When "aleyye" appears in the wording, as it does in this version, the meaning is as seen in the translation of the hadith.
