This section describes the manifestations (tecellî) of the Divine Names, Attributes, and Actions that are specific to the Perfected One (kâmil), along with the miracles (kerâmet) arising from them.

O esteemed one! Know that the Friends of God have said: The Perfected One who possesses a satisfied self (nefs-i râziya) progresses beyond the manifestations of actions (tecellî-i ef’âl) at the end of the fifth station, and arrives at the manifestations of Names and Attributes, thus advancing to the sixth station. Through this, they ascend from the level of certainty through reason (‘ilmu’l-yakîn) to certainty through vision (aynu’l-yakîn), and then, with a spiritual impulse (cezbe), reach the seventh station, where true certainty (hakka’l-yakîn) is realized.

The manifestation of actions (tecellî-i ef’âl) occurs when one action from the actions of the Most High is revealed to the heart of the servant. For the Most High reveals one of His actions to the heart of the servant. Thus, His power that flows through all things becomes apparent to the servant. The servant then perceives that it is the Most High who both moves and stills. Only those possessing insight (ehli) can witness this state. The manifestation of actions is a place where feet slip. For those newly entering the path of spiritual travel and observation (seyru sülûk), fear and peril arise, as they completely divest themselves of action. [139] However, the servants whom God protects are always upon the Straight Path (shari’ah) [and the appearance of manifestations does not cause their feet to slip].

If a Perfected One in the fifth station, while experiencing the manifestations of the unity of actions (tevhîd-i ef’âl), recognizes that both the Mover and the Stiller are the Most High, and simultaneously fulfills the rulings of the Sacred Law (ahkâm-ı şer’iyye) within their own self, then this protected servant will ascend to the station of the manifestations of Names and Attributes—without being exposed to the danger of slipping—and pass beyond them. If they fail to remain steadfast in this station and slip, they are led astray from the Path of God and become heretical (zındık), falling into the darkness of their own nature.

“No power or strength is there except through Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Magnificent.”

The manifestation of Names (tecellî-i esmâ) occurs when one of the Beautiful Names of the Most High is revealed to the heart of the servant. For the Most High reveals one of His blessed Names [343/a] to the heart of the servant. The servant becomes so overcome and affected by the light of that manifested Name that, were God to be called by that Name at that moment, the servant would respond.

The manifestation of Attributes (tecellî-i sıfât) occurs when one of the Attributes of the Most High is revealed to the heart of the servant. For all the attributes of the servant are transient (fânî). The Most High reveals one of His Attributes to their heart, and thus some traces of that Attribute are witnessed in the transient being through God’s grace. For example, if the Most High manifests with the Attribute of “the All-Hearing” (semî‘), then the servant can hear and understand even the speech of inanimate beings.

For they have passed through the levels of certainty through reason (‘ilmu’l-yakîn) and certainty through vision (aynu’l-yakîn) and attained true certainty (hakka’l-yakîn). The other Attributes may be known by comparison.

Poem:

1-All attributes are, without fail,

A mirror of our attributes.

The ocean of life is flowing,

Like foam, our life.

2-You are the treasure, we are the charm,

A hundred thousand names belong to Your Essence.

You are the spirit, and we are the body,

Love is the root of our being.

3-If our existence perishes,

Our witnessing remains.

The Beloved becomes our cupbearer,

Our difficulties are resolved.

4-The page of existence was filled

With beautiful forms in succession.

Cast your gaze, all our complexities became detailed.

5-The world became water and rose,

The imprint of the world is soul and heart.

Know that this is the two worlds of our potentiality.

6-We who are in a direction, You are hidden from us.

If it were devoid of direction, You would be revealed;

All our directions would vanish.

7-We who have come into existence,

Have prostrated before the Beloved.

We have come to witnessing of God,

Our steadfastness is through love.
