Second Article
It is reported through hadith that seclusion (uzlet) possesses dignity and esteem.
O beloved! Know that the Most Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) showed compassion to his community and announced that calamities originate only from people. Indeed, in a revered hadith he stated: “A person’s calamity comes only from another human being.” And he said: "The most excellent wealth of a Muslim is his sheep, for they wander on mountain peaks and valley edges, protecting him from discord in his religion." And he said: "Those who dwell with rulers fall into tribulation." And he said: “Scholars are trustworthy messengers over the servants of Allah, provided they do not associate with rulers nor engage in worldly affairs. But whenever they associate with rulers, you should distance yourselves from them, for then they become treacherous messengers.”
And he said: "Whoever assists a tyrant in his injustice, Allah Most High will surely inflict that very tyrant upon him." And he said: “After me, there will arise rulers. Whoever goes to their doors, confirms their lies, and aids them in their injustices is not of my community.” And he said: "Remaining solitary in a secluded place, away from people, is safer and more fitting than sitting with bad companions." And he said: "He who desires leadership will never prosper, and he who seeks power will find no ease." And he said: “The ignorant person is an enemy to himself; how can he be a friend to others?” And he said: "A wise man is better than a foolish friend.”
Verse
1- O blessed, visible one, withdraw your hand, do not grasp him at all,
For the claws of reason will break his tale with guile in the end.
2- Observe that howling wind (sîb-i gabgab), do not harbor it in your heart,
For you will find drops of blood spilled, the fire of impurity.
3- Desire your soul from the depths of your being, pass beyond the beauty of the body, for it is transient.
If the sun of the soul shines brightly, the horizons will be intoxicated by its splendor.
4- The reflection of the soul appears in the mirror of existence;
That very reflection is the beauty and allure that beautifies all the beautiful.
5- The Sufi, who witnesses the Truth directly from God, is a knower.
What use to him are explanations, intellect, and proofs?
