Concerning the virtues and benefits of Divine love, through venerable hadith.
O beloved one! Know that the Most Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) showed compassion to his community and announced the blessedness of Divine love, revealing the path towards it. As he stated in his venerable sayings: “Indeed, the Compassionate Lord possesses ninety-nine attributes of mercy. With one of them, creatures show kindness to each other on earth. And with ninety [30] He will have mercy upon His servants on the Day of Resurrection.” And he said: "Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty." And he said: “When the All-Merciful loves a servant, everyone in the heavens and the earth loves him.” And he said: “The compassion and mercy of Allah for His servant is more than a mother’s tenderness towards her child.” And he said: “Love is eternal, primordial, and ever-lasting.” And he said: "He who loves Allah, loves the Qur'an and continues to recite it." And he said: "You are with those whom you love."
And he said: “Everyone will be with those they love.” And he said: “To love for Allah’s sake is what Allah desires. So whoever loves for Allah’s sake is a beloved in that august Court.” And he said: “The All-Merciful has made women, fragrance, and prayer, the light of my eyes, dear to me.” And he said: "Whoever remembers Allah much, the All-Merciful will love him." And he said: “Whoever prefers the love of Allah to the love of people, Allah will suffice for him against them.” And he said: “The All-Merciful loves that the ancient love among His servants be preserved and continued.” And he said: "I have grown old, my body is weak, my bones are frail, my end draws near, and my desire to meet the Divine has increased, as has my longing for the souls of the prophets and the pure brethren." And he said: “A lover who dies concealing his love receives the reward of a martyr.” And he said: "Do not consult with the people of love. For their hearts are burning and their minds are perplexed, so they have no insight or planning.” And he said: “Souls exist in ranks within their realm. When they come to this world, by Allah’s permission, those who recognize each other become familiar."
Those who deny [Divine Love] oppose it. They meet in the air and sniff at each other like horses.” And he said: "Whoever finds Divine love in his heart should know that the Divine loves him. For that love has come to him from Allah."
And at that station, when he prayed, a sound like water boiling in a pot would emanate from his blessed chest, and a fragrance of roses and basil would spread from his blessed voice.
Poem
The flame of the eternal beauty’s light
Had set ablaze that beautiful one.
The blessed heart of As-Siddiq al-Akbar (Hazrat Abu Bakr may Allah be pleased with him) was consumed by the fire of love. Therefore, the scent of roasted liver would come from his mouth.
The Most Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicated: “O Allah! Provide me with Your love and the love of those who are brought near to You.”
Again in a supplication, he said: "O Allah! Make Your love dearer to me than my self, my ears, my eyes, my family, my possessions, and cool water." Again, he supplicated: “O Allah! I desire acceptance in what You have given. I long for closeness to You and to gaze upon Your blessed countenance in the Hereafter. Have mercy on me, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy!”
Verse
1- What has become of the seeker’s desire from "They love them?"
May it not be that the sun gazed upon the mirror of the heart?
2- He is the beautiful and loving One, Whose beauty is eternal.
Thousands of roses are gathered from His garden, O generous, O bountiful one.
3- News of love always comes to the heart.
Indeed, this ancient cloak is not worthy of a fresh soul.
4- Burn in the fire of love, be safe from Hell.
For every imitation burns with the necklace of devotion.
5- Opposition to the self and desires is the practice of the monotheist.
The greatest jihad lies within love, unique and unparalleled.
6- He found happiness in both worlds, he remained alive forever;
He abandoned all and became a servant of the Most Majestic Love.
7- Union with love was my only hope, O Allah!
Thousands of thanks that hope has been realized in the world.
