To attain closeness to Allah, the one thing necessary on this path for a human being is LOVE. Once this exists, there is no need for fear.
Hakka varmak için, bu yolda insana tek şey lazımdır: AŞK Bu olduktan sonra korkma
O esteemed one, whom the Exalted has honored and graced with numerous divine blessings… Know that – “Allah guides whom He wills and brings them to His light.” (24/35) This is a verse from the Noble Quran, a source of grace. Reflect on the moments when lightning flashes from those clouds of grace. Consider what might happen and – “Allah designates His mercy for whomsoever He pleases.” (3/74) Contemplate the blessings brought about by this sublime word, so that winds of union constantly surround you. Strive to understand, and we will relate what may occur. Then, fragrances of paradise begin to emanate from the field of the heart… And those fragrances flourish like a garden in paradise, spreading their scents all around… And within that garden, nightingale songs begin with – “O my longing for Joseph.” (12/84) And in the realm of secrets, flames of passion begin to shine. Now, birds of sorrow take flight in the expanse of majesty and fly with the utmost agility. These are called states of gnosis and the realm of gnosis. This realm is filled with boundless valleys. There, even those possessing superior intellect fail to find their way and continue; they become bewildered. Then, terrifying states manifest… You look and see a sublime hand raised, waiting above you, poised to descend upon your head. In this vision, the foundations of your understanding are shaken. Then, you perceive another realm has begun, voices rising from beyond the veils – majestic voices! How can one lend an ear to them? Or how could a heart remain that comprehends their profound meaning? Imagine: – “They could not estimate the true value of Allah.” (6/91) Which ear would heed this softened meaning? What would you do if this softened meaning directly addressed you? Would you not surrender your soul at that moment?
This sea of meaning is vast. Here, ships of righteous conduct sail within it, carrying those who journey the path of Allah. For them, there is no concern about waves or various dangers of the sea. Do not underestimate the ships that carry these travelers. Their description is: – “They surge onward like mountains amidst the waves; they draw the travelers and take them.” (11/42) And this verse carrying sublime meanings is also the sail of those travelers, propelling their sails.
Reflect… Think again… think again – “They love Allah, and Allah loves them.” (5/54) Contemplate the profound meaning indicated by this Noble Verse. That meaning is a vast sea, and its name is the Sea of Love—the Sea of Affection and Devotion. Those devoted to affection launch their sailboats upon it, beginning their journey onward. The tilting of their sailboat’s sails to one side or the other does not frighten them; waves cannot lead them astray. Mountains of waves come to submerge them, but divine grace protects them, and they know this. Yet, they cannot help but implore: – “O Lord, bring me to a blessed destination, for the best of destinations is You.” (21/101) What could that destination be? Nothing other than closeness to Lika and the Presence of Allah. However, as in all places, potential exists here. They implore… they yearn… but – “Those upon whom Our favor has descended…” (21/101) There is nothing else like it. Who seeks out those souls lost on that path? Who can question severed heads? Only those destined to be saved are saved, for primordial potential comes in that way.
Let the sea surge and let the waves seek to engulf these lovers of Allah; if Allah has decreed their salvation from eternity, He will bring them down safely to – “Judi.” (11/44) Now, a divine attraction descends upon them, drawing them to – “the station of truth.” (54/55) This station is one of grace and beneficence according to primordial potential. The station is not one but many. Between passing each station and moving on to the next, there are stops—one or several—that vary depending on the individual. There is a single stop that all must pass through, though it is known as one, yet it is exceedingly difficult to overcome. That stop is hidden within the verse: – “Am I not your Lord?” (7/172) Once one surpasses this station, their path extends toward the realm of union. Those who have reached this far must be endowed with potential; they understand this and are delighted and amazed.
Then, divine tables laden with blessings are spread before them. They partake abundantly from those blessings, for they are described by the verse: – “Those who give generously will be rewarded with goodness and abundance.” (10/26) Here, we can describe HUSNA as all blessings and ZIYADE as divine closeness.
Everyone seeking to attain closeness to Allah must overcome these turbulent and vast seas. To cross them and reach Allah, the one thing necessary on this path for a human being is LOVE… Once this exists, there is no need for fear… You will traverse every sea, every ocean; oceans will shrink before you like a ditch; mountains and plains will become a single step.
Love carries all travelers on this path. Love is a fire for the gnostics—a fire that constantly burns and scorches their hearts. Let it burn! Is water withheld from the burning? Or does a physician not come to the sick? Especially when the heart of the yearning lover of Allah is also afflicted, then as they burn, the wine of love rushes to their aid. What else could extinguish their fire but the wine of love?
The name of the cup that brings them this wine of love is QURBIYYAH—the glass of union, the glass of closeness, and the goblet of communion. What a beautiful and sublime thing! At that moment, they are surrounded by huris… Allah pours something into the essence of those whose hearts burn with divine love—namely, the WINE OF LOVE. They do not look at the giver; they drink, and never feel full. How could they? For – “They were given pure wine to drink.” (76/21) What a wine it is when union occurs while drinking it! And its cupbearer is Allah—His glory be exalted above all.
Now, they have attained what they sought; they have found what they were looking for. What more is required of them? Why does one linger who has not found it? Why is one deprived who has found it?
The final destination of the journey is there. Upon reaching that place, they find eternal and everlasting dominion and glory. This is how the realm attained by those people is described: – “Look! Then turn around and look again! What do you see but blessings and a great kingdom?” (76/20) How beautiful it is to lose this existence! For the reward for losing that existence on this path is Allah’s communion.
