ABLUTION SECTION · 82 – PERSON WHOSE ABLUTION IS BROKEN DURING PRAYER

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: It is related that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “If one releases wind during prayer, let him turn and perform ablution and repeat his prayer.”
**Explanation:**
This honorable hadith indicates that if someone silently passes gas during prayer, their ablution and prayer are invalidated, requiring them to renew their ablution and re-perform the prayer. A hadith narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) states: “If one vomits, experiences a nosebleed, or is affected by pre-seminal discharge while praying, he should leave the prayer, perform ablution, say nothing, and resume his prayer from where he left off.”
Abu Hanifa, Malik, and Shafi’i (may Allah be pleased with them) acted upon Aisha's hadith. They considered completing the prayer and then repeating it to be more desirable.
*Fesa:* Passing gas silently.
