THE PRAYER SECTION · 128 – THE LACK OF REWARD FOR A PRAYER

– Ammar ibn Yasir, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
– I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say:
– “(A man completes his prayer, and its reward is written for him – only a tenth of it, or a ninth of it, or an eighth of it, or a seventh of it, or a sixth of it, or a fifth of it, or a fourth of it, or a third of it, or half of it).”
COMMENTARY:
Devotion gains value according to adherence to concentration (ḥuṣū). Some people receive the reward of one-tenth of their devotion, others one-ninth, and some even half.
