Ey Aziz (Beloved One),
Await the rising of the sun of knowledge…
That sun will rise from the horizon of divine secrets… When that sun rises, the gardens of the heart will be filled with light. The central source of this illuminating sun is:
– “The earth was illuminated by the light of your Lord…” (39:69)
This verse carries a profound meaning…
The soul of the seeker who attains this illumination will surely be enlightened. And to gaze into the hidden realms concealed within one’s essence is their right…
It is after this immersion that the veils of ignorance are lifted from the eyes of understanding. But how do you know? Whose heart-eye will it be? Do you desire to understand? Indeed, you do; so read:
– “Today We have removed from you your veil, so your sight is clear.” (50:22)
The meaning within this verse is like kohl applied to the eye… What bliss! What felicity!
What do you not see and what do you not witness? And what observations are made when divine kohl is applied to the eyes of the soul. It only requires that this kohl be once applied to the eye of understanding…
Afterward, the inner understandings of the eye begin to perceive things differently…
They see wondrous sights, passing from amazement to amazement. The radiance of the sacred lights they witness overwhelms them, making it difficult to open their eyes.
What about the memories that come to mind? They too are wondrous things. The secrets of the world of the unseen are revealed to them. The power of thought becomes so affected by what they behold that they can no longer think or act.
Perhaps they came seeking something, but unknowingly plunged into the valley of love. Indeed, what can someone who has reached this state do knowingly? They are in the valley of love, captivated and amazed…
Within this state, another force moves them. Without knowing what it is, they find themselves in the land of nearness to Allah.
— How did this happen?
They cannot ask…
— Where am I? Where have I come?
They cannot say… The fervor overwhelms them so much that they do not understand what they are doing or experiencing. They are even unaware of the instruments they become.
Amidst these extraordinary occurrences, a fear may also grip them. For perhaps in a moment of clarity, regarding those dizzying beauties:
— What if these are taken away?
They might think. Not everyone is always intoxicated. There are times when they are clear-headed. It is at that time that the thought occurs to them that they should not be secure from Allah’s subtle plan, and they become disheartened.
Perhaps they feel a loneliness, a pang in their heart…
But… but how could He, who raised them to that station, make them disheartened? Surely not. How could He overwhelm them with sadness? Surely not. Only the feeling of loneliness is withheld from them. At a moment when they are clear-headed, He sends the warm voice of these divine addresses to their heart:
—“Allah is surely powerful over those who wish to bestow His favor upon people…” (40:61)
—“Wherever you may be, Allah is with you.” (54:7)
Companionship! The companionship of Allah… In comparison to His power and might, what value does a servant have? Like a speck of dust in the vast emptiness… Like a tiny grain of sand in a huge desert… It cannot be so. Perhaps:
— What then is the worth of the servant in this companionship?
You may ask… But do not be surprised… And know that it is true… If, in response to your question, what comes out of my mouth is:
— Nothing…
Then immediately accept its truthfulness…
If a servant exists and tries to do something, especially in comparison to the power of Allah. No, no, it will all be erased… The illusion of existence within the servant will die.
-“Do not set up any idols with Allah!” (51:51)
The servant who hears this command completely melts away. They pass into non-existence… And no trace remains of what they imagined to exist.
— Who understands and finds this?
You may say… Indeed, these words are very important. It is a question worth pondering…
If you speak it as if someone has the power to find it, then you are greatly mistaken. Then it becomes clear that you have not understood anything from what has been said so far… Woe to you! According to this state, you must first consider the meaning of the verse:
-“This is beyond your control.” (3:128)
Read and try to understand it again and again what it means…
Do not be deceived into thinking that you will find this through your own effort… It is a sea of oneness. Whoever plunges into that sea with their own effort is immediately struck by the waves of Allah’s effort and cast into the vast ocean.
If someone in this state wants to escape from the vast ocean, tries to struggle and seeks to reach the shore with all these things, then they fall into a vortex of wonder and terror… If Allah has granted them the understanding of truth, then they begin to implore:
-“My Lord, I have wronged myself, so forgive me.” (28:16)
It is after this that gifts of grace come as riding beasts to that servant.
-“We loaded them with provisions on the land and sea.” (17:70)
They are rescued from all dangers by His command… And, according to His decree:
-“We bestow Our mercy upon whom We will…” (12:56)
They are brought to the most beloved shoreland.
While these events unfold, there is no longer any existence within the servant. They have completely surrendered to Allah…
-“Allah encompasses all things with His knowledge and power.” (41:54)
According to His command, some things fall to the lot of that servant… The keys to the realms of secrets are delivered to them.
Afterward, a goal becomes visible for them:
-“The ultimate destination is your Lord.” (3:14)
This sentence is a sign for them. They now understand this sign very well…
Because the method of solving meanings has been taught to them. What inspiration is, what meaning is carried by revelation, is something they know… Because:
-“He revealed to His servant that which He wished to reveal.” (53:10)
The meaning within this verse has been taught to them.
Then, yes then:
-“He saw of the signs of his Lord.” (53:18)
They begin to conquer the hidden signs contained in the essence of this verse…
May Allah grant us all to attain these states. Amen!
