Abu Humayd or Abu Usayd, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “When any of you enters a mosque, let him greet the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and then say, ‘O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy.’ And when he exits the mosque, let him say, ‘I ask you for your favor.’”

Hayy ibn Shuayb (may Allah be pleased with him) relates:

One day I encountered Ukba ibn Muslim and said to him, “The report reached me that Abdullah ibn Amr ibn As would say when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered the mosque: ‘I seek refuge in the Everlasting Dominion of Allah, His gracious acceptance, and from the rejected Satan.’”

Ukba asked, "Did this entire statement reach you?"

I replied, “Yes.”

Ukba said, “(The hadith continues:) Whoever says it when entering the mosque, Satan says, 'He has been protected from me for the rest of the day.'"
