Fatima bint Abi Hubaysh, may Allah be pleased with her, related:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw the purulent discharge she was experiencing. He said to her:

“It is apparent when it is menstrual blood because it is black. If you see black blood, refrain from prayer. But if it is other than that (red blood), perform ablution and pray.”

Abu Dawud said: Ibn Musa narrated to me; he said, “To me, it was reported by memory from Ibn Abi Adi, and from him from Urwa, and from him from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her.”

This hadith has been transmitted from the Messenger of Allah through the way of ‘Ala, and through the way of Shu’ba, suspended at Abu Ja'far, as “She performs ablution for every prayer.”
