The Section on Prayer · 114 – Those Who Say a Dog Passing in Front Does Not Invalidate It

From Fazl ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him:
While we were in land belonging to us, and my uncle Abbas was among his companions while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was not present, he came to us. He performed prayer in the open field without a screen (ḥijrā). While a dog and a donkey were playing before him during the prayer, he did not give it any importance. [457]
**Note:** *Izah* (explanation) provides commentary on the hadith, clarifying that the passage of people or animals is not necessarily an impediment to the validity of the prayer, only their stopping in front of the praying person.
