ABLUTION SECTION · 52 – Washing the limbs twice
136 – From Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would perform ablutions two at a time (washing).
137 – It is related from Ata ibn Yasar, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: Ibn Abbas said to us, "Would you like me to show you how the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed his ablution?" He requested a basin of water (and it was brought). He took one handful of water with his right palm and rinsed his mouth and nose. Then he took another handful with both hands and washed his face. Again he scooped up a handful and washed his right arm, then again he scooped up a handful and washed his left arm. Afterwards, he took a handful of water and wiped his head and ears with the remaining moisture. He then took another handful of water and poured it over his shod foot, one hand beneath and one hand above, rubbing it. He did likewise with the other side.
