PRAYER SECTION · 66 – THE VISITOR'S LEADERSHIP
Büdeyl, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Our freedman, Abu Atiyyah, said:
Malik ibn Huwayris would come to us at the place where we prayed.
We would say to him, “When the call to prayer is made, lead the prayer.” He would then say to us, "Bring someone from amongst yourselves to lead you." And I will tell you why I do not lead you: because I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say:
“Whoever visits a tribe (people of a land) should not lead them in prayer. Let one from among them lead them.” [388]
