JIHAD SECTION · 87 – A PRESIDENT IS APPOINTED FROM WITHIN A GROUP SETTING OUT ON AN EXPEDITION
Abu Sa'id al-Hudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whenever three people set out on a journey, let them appoint one of them as their leader (commander).”
Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“When three people embark on a journey, let them choose a leader among themselves.”
Naafi said: We used to say to Abu Salama, “You are our leader.”
