Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings upon him, said: "If one who is fasting vomits unintentionally, then he does not have to make up the day of his fast. But if he vomits intentionally, then he must make it up."

Ma’dan bin Talha has narrated on the authority of Abu ad-Darda’:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (without his own volition) vomited and broke his fast. Ma’dan said: I met Sevban, a freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), in Damascus Mosque, and Abu ad-Darda informed me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) vomited and broke his fast. I said, “Sevban, has Abu ad-Darda told you truthfully?” Then Sevban said: Abu ad-Darda has spoken truly; I also poured out the water for his ablution. [284]
