Divorce, Section 41 – A woman who has separated from her husband may go out during the day while expecting violence.
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: My maternal aunt had been divorced thrice. She went out to collect her own dates. A man met her and forbade her from going out (during her waiting period). My aunt came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and told him about it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to my aunt: “Go and collect your dates, for perhaps you will give charity from them or do some good.”
