THE CHAPTER OF THE NEZZARIYYA · 3 – ON THE GREATNESS OF TAKING AN OATH NEAR THE MINBAR OF THE MESSENGER OF GOD
Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “There is none who takes an oath falsely in my presence, even if it were upon a green miswak, but his place in Hell is prepared for him or Hell becomes obligatory upon him.” [140]
COMMENTARY
Every false oath is abhorrent. However, the sin of taking a false oath in blessed places is greater.
