JIHAD SECTION · 42 – HE WHO ASKS GOD ALMIGHTY FOR MARTYRDOM
Muaz ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) say: “Whoever fights in the way of Allah for as long as it takes to milk a camel’s udder, Paradise becomes obligatory for him. Whoever desires the martyrdom of his soul truthfully, then dies or is killed, he will have the reward of a martyr.”
Ibn Mufaḍḍal added from this point: “Whoever is wounded in the way of Allah (from the enemy), or suffers an affliction and is wounded in the way of Allah, that wound is brought on the Day of Resurrection in its most severe form in the world, with the color of saffron and the fragrance of musk. Whoever has a boil appear on his body in the way of Allah, a seal of martyrdom is placed upon it.”
