-VOLUME 3- · 73 – AT WHAT TIME IS THE SERMON DELIVERED IN MINA ON THE DAY OF EID?
1956 – It is narrated from Rāfiʿ ibn ʿAmr al-Muzanī (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) in Mina, when it was the time of intense forenoon (kaba kuşluk), delivering a sermon to the people while mounted on a piebald, white mule. ʿAlī (may Allah be pleased with him) was loudly conveying what the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the people, and some of the people were standing while others were sitting.
EXPLANATION
Shahbāʾ: It is the feminine of ashhab. It is an adjective. It is formed from a mixture of white and black color. Shahbāʾ also means white (Qāmūs). For this reason, I have translated it as piebald, white.
