SHOPPING SECTION · 1 – Commerce mixed with oaths and superfluous words
Kays ibn Abi Garza, may Allah be pleased with him, related:
In the era of prosperity, we were called brokers. One day, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, encountered us and gave us a more beautiful name, saying: “O company of merchants, in trade there are oaths and superfluous words. So mix charity into it.”
Kays ibn Abi Garza (may Allah be pleased with him) related:
It was narrated on the same meaning as the preceding hadith. However, in this narration, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said, “There is falsehood and oath-taking in trade.” Abdullah az-Zuhri narrated, “There is frivolous talk and falsehood.”
