Volume 2 – 297 – The Sunnah Prayer Performed Before Afternoon Prayer
From Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, it is related that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “May Allah have mercy on whoever prays four rak'ahs before the afternoon prayer.”
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) would pray two rak'ahs of sunnah before the afternoon prayer.
