FASTING CHAPTER · 24 – VISAL FASTING

Narrated by Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) forbade the observance of the continuous fast. They said, “But you yourself observe it, O Messenger of Allah.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said, "My situation is not like yours. Indeed, my Lord provides me with food and drink." [272]

Abū Sa’īd al-Hudrī (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) say: “Do not link fasts one to another. Whoever wants to link them, let him reach until dawn (i.e., break his fast).”
The companions said: "You link the fasts." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “My situation is not like yours. There is a provider who feeds me, and one who gives me drink.”
