FASTING CHAPTER · 49 – FASTS OF THE DAYS OF TASHRIQ

It is narrated from Abu Murra, the freed slave of Ummu Hani, that he entered upon Amr bin As with Abdullah bin Amr. Amr brought them food and said, “Eat.” Abdullah said, "I am fasting." Amr said, “Eat; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command us to eat during these days, and forbade us from fasting in them.” Malik said, those were the days of sacrifice (the days of Tashriq).

Ukba ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said, “The Day of Arafah, the Day of Sacrifice, and the days of Tashriq are Eid for us Muslims. Those are days of eating and drinking.”
