THE JIHAD SECTION · 65 – THAT THE OWNER IS MORE ENTITLED TO RIDE THE ANIMAL'S FRONT
Abu Burayda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was once walking when a man came along with a donkey. The man said, “O Messenger of Allah, let me ride.” He drew back from the front of the donkey. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No, you are more deserving to ride in front of the animal than I am, but leave its front for me." The man said, "I grant you the right to ride in front." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mounted.
