SECTION ON JIHAD · 43 – The Undesirability of Cropping Horses' Manes and Tails
Utba ibn Abdus-Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) say: “Do not cut the forelock of the horses, their manes, or their tails; for their tail drives away flies, their mane is its garment, and there is goodness tied up in its forelock.”
