THE FASTING MAN'S WIFE – CHAPTER 33: KISSING THE WIFE OF A FASTER
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) would kiss while fasting, and embrace his family while fasting, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) was most restrained regarding his desires. [285]
EXPLANATION
[This is a marginal note:] The matter pertains to need and limbs. It is disliked for young men who are not secure from desire to kiss their wives while fasting. Especially, young people should be careful. Ibn Abbas also considers the kissing of young men to be disliked, and would grant leniency to the elderly.
Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would kiss his wives during the month of Ramadan.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) would kiss me while he and I were fasting.
‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated: "While I was fasting, I kissed my wife, and I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a great deed; I kissed my wife while fasting.’ The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘What if one were to take water into his mouth while fasting and rinse? What would you say about that?’ The narrator, Isa ibn Hammad, states that ‘Umar said, ‘There is nothing [wrong] in it.’ Then both narrators relate that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ‘So cease worrying.’”
